New physics with ultracold atom, molecules, bosonic and fermionic gases

Research topics:

  • Ultracold collisions of atoms and molecules
  • Hybrid atom-ion systems
  • Quantum computing and simulations with atoms and ions
  • Developments of state-of-the-art ab initio methods of quantum chemistry to interpret precision experiments in the fields of molecular spectroscopy, collisions in the ultracold regime, and fermionic gases; theoretical predictions of new phenomena at the border of chemistry and physics
  • Experimental studies of quantum degenerate Bose-Fermi mixtures of potassium; towards ground state KCs molecules; many body physics of heteronuclear mixtures of potassium and cesium; precision spectroscopy of ultacold molecular dimers; non-destructive measurements for rapid data acquisition in ultracold spectroscopy
  • Development of novel measurement techniques applied to ultracold atoms
  • Nonlinear effect in cold atom physics
  • Formation and control of ultracold molecules and molecular ions
